Justice and Development Party won a majority of seats to Islamic announced the results of parliamentary elections in Morocco.


At a press conference in the capital Rabat, said Interior Minister Tayyip sharqawi, the justice and Development Party (AKP) won 80 seats out of 288 seats have been resolved. Total House seats 395 seats.

Under the new Constitution, King Mohammed VI instructed Prime Minister belongs to the biggest party in Parliament.


Other parties


Independence Party came in second place with a big difference on the justice and development with 45 seats.


Independence party announced its readiness to participate in a coalition with the ruling Justice and development.


The words of Prime Minister Abbas El Fassi, in an interview with journalists, according to Reuters.


Fassi said that "freedom and Justice Party won a victory for democracy."


Statements were made by the Moroccan voters cast their ballots in the first parliamentary elections since the constitutional reforms recently introduced by King Mohammed VI with a wave of uprisings.


Authorities announced that turnout stood at 45 percent, more than a little turnout in previous elections in 2007, which amounted to 37 percent.


Would Parliament and Prime Minister stronger power according to the new Constitution. The King will appoint the Prime Minister, the party that wins the election. King remains the last word in defence, security and religion
